Helena Bonham Carter dedicates the British honour to her father

London: Actress Helena Bonham-Carter will be honoured with top British honour Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) and she is dedicating it to her father.

Bonham-Carter, who has two children with film director partner Tim Burton, said she is dedicating the honour to her father, who suffered with serious illness for 25 years, after being diagnosed with brain tumour.

“I am wondering does it mean I get to command, because at the moment it`s my four-year-old daughter who does the commanding in our household. Must inform her of the change in situation,” dailymail.co.uk quoted her as saying.

Other show business personalities, who will receive a CBE honour this year would be comedian Ronnie Corbett and broadcaster Clive James. TV presenter Lorraine Kelly receives a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) along with former TV host Stuart Hall. Actor David Harewood will also get an MBE honour.

Queen to make Helena Bonham Carter a CBE

British actress Helena Bonham Carter is sure to have a fantastic 2012, as she made Queen Elizabeth’s annual New Year Honours list, out today.

The King’s Speech star and Oscar-nominated actress will be made a CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) next year, along with Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and a select list of other British entertainers and notables.

Past honorees from Hollywood include Helen Mirren (DBE – Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire), Michael Caine (CBE), Judi Dench (DBE) and Anthony Hopkins (CBE), among others from various genres of entertainment.
